12th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival

(VOVWORLD) - The 12th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival opened in Hanoi on Friday, drawing film makers from Vietnam, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Israel, Spain, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and Britain. The event was organized by the Central Science and Documentary Film Studio, the EU National Institute for Culture, and the Embassies of several European countries.

The European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival, held annually, aims to strengthen cultural cooperation and exchanges between EU members and Vietnam. The 10-day event features outstanding and award-winning documentaries from Vietnam and Europe about rural areas, climate change, race discrimination, famous artists, and social development.

This year’s films include Vietnamese Tea Talk (Vietnam), Molecore (Italy), The Uncertain Kingdom (the UK), De Chaque Instant (France), Petit Samedi (Belgium), Helmut Lachemann-My Way (Germany), New Shift (Czech), Save the Village (Austria), Guerilla (Vietnam), Omega (Spain), A Common Goal (Israel), and Nobel Citizen (Switzerland).

Nguyen Quang Tuan, Chairman of Vietnam Central Documentary and Science Film Studio Ltd. said: "The success of the previous festivals has been praised by audiences and media. This year, the Central Documentary and Science Film Studio and European countries co-organized the 12th festival featuring films about culture, health care, education, and society. But people remain at the center of each film."

All the films screened at the festival are outstanding works embracing the cultural identity of their countries.
