The Reading Culture Ambassador Contest has been organized since 2019, attracting around 1 million contestants each year. It has become a forum to encourage the reading culture of the young generation.
This year, the contest has been adjusted, creating more opportunities for participants’ creativity. Apart from sending videos, contestants can submit their entries in the form of drawings, poems, short stories, and dramas to show their love for reading.
Pham Quoc Hung, head of the Library Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, “Last year, 9,000 schools and nearly 1 million pupils and students joined the contest. The contestants can share their love for reading through videos, pictures, and short stories, which helps spread the reading culture in the community.”
Many young people went to the book street in Hanoi to learn about the contest and online book introduction event.

The launch ceremony included various events, including presenting books to libraries, workshops, and exchanges between readers. Teacher Vuong Thi Phuong Linh from To Hoang Junior Secondary School in Hanoi, said, “Nowadays, children spend a lot of time online on smart devices. This contest has helped promote reading habits in a creative way. It is expected to attract pupils and promote their creativity while introducing their favorite books.”
