(VOVWORLD) -Vietnamese tourists entering Japan only need to get 3 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and they will not have to be isolated or tested and are not required to go on a tour from September 7, as Japan is easing border controls for travelers after a two-year pandemic hiatus.

Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) in Vietnam said that if traveling alone or without a tour, visitors still have to book all services such as air tickets, hotels through a travel agency, not by themselves. This regulation has removed the strict disease prevention requirements, creating a sense of comfort when traveling, but still helps the government control the itineraries of travelers.

From September 7, Vietnamese visitors on entry do not need to be isolated or tested if they have all three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. If the doses are not enough, travelers need to do a test before flying and after entering Japan. If an entrant tests positive, they will have to go for treatment. If negative, they need to isolate for three days and be required to take a test after the third day at their place of residence and notify the authorities.

The Japan National Tourism Organization also launched It’s Time For Japan “Okaeri” campaign, to mark the reopening of Japan to Vietnamese tourists.
