It made history as the first-ever Korean film to win Best Picture, and Bong Joon Ho the first-ever Korean to win Best Director.

The war film “1917” directed by Sam Mendes won three prizes, including best cinematography, best sound editing and best visual effects.

Renée Zellweger won Best Actress for her portrayal of Hollywood icon Judy Garland in “Judy.” Laura Dern won the best supporting actress Oscar award for her role as a predatory divorce lawyer in Marriage Story.

Brad Pitt won Best Actor for his performance as Cliff Booth in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
