PM Chinh made the request while chairing a meeting on Tuesday to address obstacles and accelerate the construction of this key road.
The four-lane, 188km expressway is scheduled to open to traffic in 2027. Total cost is estimated at more than 1.7 billion USD.
Once completed, the Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang expressway will significantly shorten travel time between An Giang and Ho Chi Minh City and enhance connectivity to Tran De Port, a crucial gateway.
The road is expected to drive regional development and facilitate import-export activities for Cambodia and other Mekong subregion countries.
