In recent days, streets and alleys across the zone have been decorated with flags, banners and posters promoting the election scheduled for March 15, 2026.

At village cultural houses, the lists of candidates for the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels have been publicly posted for voters to review. Many fishing vessel owners in Phu Quy said that although they are currently at sea, information about the election has been widely disseminated and fishermen are well informed. Vessel owners plan to return to Phu Quy before March 14 so fishermen can exercise their civic rights and obligations on March 15.

Nguyen Van Tri, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Election Committee of the Phu Quy special zone, said:  “We have carried out communication activities in flexible and diverse forms suitable for different groups. For fishing vessels operating at sea, the Election Committee has coordinated with relevant units to distribute leaflets and broadcast radio information so captains and crew members are aware of the election day on March 15, enabling eligible fishermen to return and exercise their rights and obligations.”

Phu Quy has 23,345 voters and six electoral units. So far, the special zone has established 21 polling teams. A total of 27 deputies will be elected to the Phu Quy People’s Council for the 2026–2031 term.
