Significant shifts in import patterns can be observed, no sharp increase in gas prices was observed, said a spokesman. The statement came after Russian gas exports via pipelines running through Ukraine came to a halt on New Year's Day.
Poland, however, noted that the situation was concerning in Moldova, as all factories in the region of Transnistria have ceased operations. The region's gas reserves are expected to last approximately 10 days.
Local energy companies have also cut heating and hot water supplies to households on Wednesday. Poland has called for increased support for Moldova.
