In an interview with the Vietnam News Agency on the significance of the election on Sunday (March 15), Khalidi said the election comes at a time when Vietnam is entering a new phase of development, with policy priorities and institutional reforms expected to shape the country’s next stage of progress.
In this context, the 16th National Assembly will play a crucial role in advancing legislative and institutional reforms to unlock new growth drivers while sustaining Vietnam’s impressive socio-economic achievements.
Khalidi affirmed that as Vietnam begins its new legislative term, the UNDP remains committed to working closely with the Government, the National Assembly and the people of Vietnam to promote inclusive and sustainable development.
Through partnerships in human development, effective governance, climate action, environmental protection and innovation, the UNDP stands ready to support Vietnam in achieving its development goals while ensuring that progress benefits everyone and no one is left behind.
