The list looked at some of the most beautiful beaches in the world from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, America, and Oceania. Ti Top was the only representative from Vietnam to break into the list that saw a total of 14 representatives from Asia.

The crescent-shaped beach is located on Ti Top Island in Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh province. The island was named after Russian cosmonaut Gherman Titov on his first visit to Ha Long Bay in 1962.

Among the 14 Asian beaches in “Lonely Planet’s” top 100, Thailand had three, followed by India, Indonesia, and the Philippines, each with two beaches on the list.

“Lonely Planet” is a world-famous travel guide and its rankings are usually considered some of the best guides for travelers. First published in 1973, the magazine has distributed more than 150 million travel guides globally.
