(VOVworld) – 12 people were killed and 30 wounded in a suicide car bomb attack in Baghdad, said Iraqi Interior Ministry Thursday. A suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden car into a security checkpoint and blew it up on a main road in the predominantly Shiite district of Kadhmiyah in the northern part of Baghdad. Earlier, another bomb attack took place near a mosque in downtown Kirkuk, 250 km north of Baghdad, leaving 9 people dead and 53 wounded.
