Vietnam prioritizes comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia, says PM

(VOVWORLD) -The Dien Bien Phu Victory is the shared victory of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at a meeting with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun and a high-ranking delegation of the Cambodian delegation who is in Vietnam for the 70th anniversary of the historic victory.

PM Chinh said Vietnam always prioritizes promoting traditional friendship, and comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia on the basis of solidarity, friendship, and mutual respect. He urged the two countries to strengthen delegation exchanges, economic cooperation, and transport connections and make more effort to build a border of peace, friendship, and cooperation. He asked the Cambodian side to cooperate with people of Vietnamese origin.

The PM said Vietnam wants to work with Cambodia and countries in the Mekong River basin to sustainably use, manage, protect and develop the Mekong River on the basis of the Mekong Agreement and the regulations of the Mekong River Commission.

Net Savoeun expressed his honor to attend the 70th anniversary of the great Dien Bien Phu Victory, saying this is an important event for Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
