UN condemns Somalia bombing

(VOVWORLD) - UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres strongly condemns a bomb attack in Magadishu, the capital city of Somalia on Saturday, causing at least 90 deaths.

Mr. Guterres described the incident “a horrendous crime” and said perpetrators behind it must be brought to justice. He extended his deepest sympathies to the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the blast.

On the same day, Saudi Arabia and Jordan condemned the bloody bomb attack.

An explosives-laden truck blew up at a busy checkpoint in the Somali capital on Saturday. There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but suspicion immediately fell on the Shabab, a terrorist group linked to Al Qaeda.
