Mr. Duc said he hopes to see more European partners in key areas of cooperation, such as green transformation, digital transformation, adaptation to climate change, and innovation.

The municipal administration also wants governments and businesses from EU countries to participate in projects to develop an international financial center and an innovation center in Ho Chi Minh city, build sustainable infrastructure, reduce carbon emissions, produce renewable energy, and develop a circular economy, Mr. Duc said.

HCMC authorities are committed to ensuring a stable socio-political environment, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of investors, and creating favorable conditions for foreign businesses, including European business, to operate in HCMC stably and effectively in the long term.

EU Ambassador to Vietnam Julien Guerrier said that over the past three and a half decades, the EU and Vietnam have stood side by side and gained many achievements.

He expressed confidence in the development of bilateral relations, contributing to realizing Vietnam's goal of becoming a developed country by 2045 and achieving net zero emissions by 2050, with a focus on sustainability and inclusivity.
