At a meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations Civil Society Conference ending the same day in Kenya's capital Nairobi, Mr. Antonio Guterres emphasized that Africa remains the epicenter of climate emergencies.

The UN Chief asserted that Africa can overcome climate fluctuations once the continent receives its fair share of investment in renewable energy and other adaptation measures. The UN chief called on major economies to honor their commitments to finance climate action in Africa and increase contributions to the newly established Loss and Damage Fund.
