So far, seven countries from Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean have confirmed to the UN Secretary General their willingness to provide men for the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS), which will be deployed to Haiti to help the Haitian police in their fight against armed gangs.
These countries are Kenya, Benin, Chad, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Barbados, and Bangladesh.
Armed gang leader Jimmy Cherizier, alias Barbeque, said his coalition will battle to free Haiti from the clutches of traditional politicians and corrupt oligarchs.
