Malaysia, Ukraine separatists agree on MH17 victim retrieval

(VOVworld) - Malaysia on Monday reached an agreement with Aleksander Borodai, leader of the separatist group in eastern Ukraine, to retrieve the bodies of the victims of MH17. Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak told a news conference in Kuala Lumpur that under the agreement, the victim corpses will be handed over to representatives from the Netherlands for identification. Meanwhile, the two black boxes of the plane MH17 will be transferred to Malaysia. Safe access to the crash site will also be guaranteed to independent international investigators, so that they may begin a full investigation. According to plan, the remains of 282 people on board will be moved by train from Donetsk city to Kharkov and then be flown to Amsterdam on board a Dutch C130 Hercules military aircraft. The same day, a Russian official said a Ukrainian warplane closely followed the Malaysian airlines MH17 plane before it was downed in Eastern Ukraine last Thursday. The official noted that Russian Defense Ministry also has space images of one of the Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile systems BUK-M1 was deployed in Donesk last Thursday when MH17 was fallen in the area. In another development, interim Prime Minister of Ukraine, Arseny Yatseniuk, on Monday said Ukraine is ready to transfer the role of coordinator in investigating how the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 was shot down to  western countries including the Netherlands.
