Fujita Yasuo, chief representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Vietnam, released the figures at a press conference in Hanoi on Wednesday.
Yasuo said the Japanese funds will be channeled to promoting growth, improving competitiveness, and building infrastructure.
He said JICA will continue, in the remaining months of the 2017 fiscal year, working closely with Vietnam to devise and carry out priority projects using capital from the private sector and Japanese firms.
