(VOVWORLD) - Three of the world’s largest medical foundations have joined forces for the first time in a 300 million USD partnership to tackle the impacts of climate change, malnutrition, infectious diseases and antibiotic resistance.

The Novo Nordisk Foundation, Wellcome, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced on Monday a new partnership focused on supporting science and innovation to advance solutions that are accessible and affordable to people in low and middle-income countries.

The three-year initiative was announced at the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s Global Science Summit in Denmark, where each organization committed 100 million USD, for a total of 300 million USD. The main aim is to remove barriers between fields of research. This initiative is of great importance in the context of a declining global attention to medical issues following the COVID‑19 pandemic.
