He went on to win the Democratic primary in Virginia, Vermont, and North Carolina.

Biden won 94% of the vote in Virginia and 99 delegates. In Vermont he won 24 more delegates. Early results in North Carolina had him winning 91% of the vote and 116 more delegates. At the National Party Congress in mid-August in Chicago, Biden will need 1,968 delegates to become the Democratic presidential candidate.
