Prolonged heavy rain will trigger landslides, flash floods, and inundation, causing loss of life, property, and infrastructure, according to the station.

Locals have moved household items and assets to a safe place, erected shields, and used bags of soil and sand to block or limit water and mud from entering the house.

In flood-prone areas, Son La city has mobilized human resources and machinery to dredge mud and clear sewer lines so that water can drain faster and not overflow into people's houses.

Last week’s heavy rain caused heavy damage to human life and property.
