IMF indefinitely postpones consultations with Russia

(VOVWORLD) - The International Monetary Fund has postponed a planned consultation with Russia indefinitely because of technical issues, said Director of the IMF branch in Russia Aleksei Mozhin in an interview with the TASS news agency on Tuesday.

The IMF had announced it would resume cooperation with Russia on September 16 after a nearly 3-year hiatus since its last consultation in 2021.

The consultation was supposed to take place online, followed by an IMF delegation visit to Moscow for meetings with Russian officials. The last time the IMF visited Russia was in November 2019.
