Deputy PM calls for greater Australian support to Vietnam in emerging industries

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son called for more information sharing and consultations between Vietnam and Australia through bilateral dialogue mechanisms and multilateral forums.

At a farewell reception for outgoing Australian Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski in Hanoi on Tuesday, Deputy PM Son stressed the need to actively implement the 2024-2027 Action Program, including promoting cooperation in trade, investment, education, and labor as well as in emerging fields such as digital transformation, energy transition, and green growth.

He also asked Australia to continue supporting Vietnam in human resource training and capacity building in semiconductors and artificial intelligence.

Ambassador Goledzinowski reaffirmed the Australian government’s commitment to supporting Vietnam and fostering Vietnam-Australia relations. He noted that now is the time for the bilateral relationship to enter a new phase with breakthroughs in various areas, including defense, security, education, mining, and digital transformation.
