Every Saturday, rain or shine, Party members, officials and civil servants at all levels in Di Linh visited local people to help them develop the economy by applying advanced technology in production and business, conduct digital transformation, fight against social evils, and protect the environment.

On the paved road that connects the villages, patriarch K'Keo said Hang Lang hamlet has changed a lot. More convenient transportation has helped locals sell their agricultural products and the distance between villages and the central area has been shortened.

“Villagers see the program’s benefits and have strongly responded. They have donated crops, land, manpower, and material resources to constructing new rural areas. The State and the people have jointly built roads to facilitate economic development and beautify the area,” said K'Keo.

The "New Rural Saturday" model has helped Due hamlet in Dinh Lac commune achieve the appearance of a central urban area, said M’Hiu Nguyen, Secretary of the hamlet’s Party cell.

“All local officials and residents have responded to the ‘New Rural Saturday’ initiative. All village roads are paved, clean and well lit. Garbage is collected. People's lives have improved.”

Every commune in Di Linh has met the new-style rural criteria. Of them, two have met the advanced new rural standards and one has become a model new-style rural commune.

To continue to effectively implement the program until 2025, the district Party Committee has outlined a plan to deploy the "New Rural Saturday" model across all hamlets.

Vu Duc Nhuan, Deputy Chairman of the district People's Committee, insisted that their project is a comprehensive program on building new-style rural areas.

“Each commune, each hamlet has been assigned to design new rural area criteria. Even the district has been asked to fulfill 9 criteria. Every weekend, the Chairman, Secretary, and other leaders of the district People's Committee go to the communes to work with the locals to clean their village and guide them in digital transformation,” Nhuan explained.

Di Linh’s goal is to become a new rural district next year and an advanced new rural district by 2025.
