Themed 'Children with children’s issues,' the event created a venue for children to voice their ideas and aspirations, as well as put forth proposals to solve problems like drowning, violence and child abuse. Nguyen Huu Sang represents Can Tho City’s children. He said:"Relevant agencies should have solutions to support abused children, protect their privacy in public, and help them reintegrate into society. Meanwhile, strict punishments should be applied to the offenders to avoid reoccurrence of abuses. Parents should become their children’s friends to better protect their children and timely report of any cases of sexual abuses. More programs to educate children of reproductive health and skills to protect themselves from being abused should be promoted at schools nationwide. Children like us should pay more attention to self-protection skills."

Speaking at the forum, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam reiterated that the government will acknowledge all recommendations and proposals of children and asked them to try their best in study for a better future. He also urged relevant ministries and agencies to devise more solutions and programs to ensure better conditions for children.

"Grandparents, parents, and teachers always hope that their future generations will have a better life, a better future. By realizing all commitments made on child issues, let’s bring children’s voices and aspirations to life," said Mr. Dam.
