(VOVWORLD) - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Friday visited and encouraged medical staff and frontline forces at field hospitals and quarantine checkpoints in Hanoi.

Visiting a COVID-19 isolation and treatment area in Phap Van - Tu Hiep, Hoang Mai District, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc said: “Precautions must be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the hospital. Medical staff and army and police forces must not be infected with COVID-19 and need to take drastic and exemplary prevention measures. If you need any equipment, please report to the city authority. The military and medical forces must be well prepared. If there is a patient, we must work day and night and taking care of the patient so that no one will die.”

Afterwards, President Phuc visited a model of goods supply for residents of a  green zone in Mai Dong Ward, Hoang Mai District. A team of volunteers to go to the market to buy food for people under lockdown in line with the Prime Minister’s Directive 16.

“Despite difficulties, everybody must comply with social distancing regulations because of their responsibility for the country and the community. I commend those who have sacrificed their own interests to implement the policy of the Party and State in pandemic prevention and control. If we win the people's hearts we will succeed. If people don't support us, we will fail,” said President Phuc.

At a vaccination site in Bach Dang Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, the President requested equal access to vaccines, giving priority to the elderly, the sick and the disadvantaged. He affirmed that the government is striving for all people to be vaccinated, especially in the large urban area of Hanoi capital.

During the 4th wave of COVID-19 outbreak since late April, Hanoi has logged a total of 2,068 cases.
