Vietnam wins silver medal at 45th World Skills Competition

(VOVWORLD) - A Vietnamese team competing at the 45th World Skills Competition in Kazan, Russia, won a silver medal, the best result in seven trips to the tournament.

Truong The Dieu, of the Vietnam Training Academy of DENSO Vietnam, won the silver medal in the Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Milling event. Eight other Vietnamese competitors received awards for excellence. Vietnam finished 25th of 63 countries and territories at the competition this year.

The 45th World Skills Competition was held in Russia last week. 1,300 contestants competed in 56 skills in six skill sectors: Construction and Building Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, Information and Communication Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Social and Personal Services, and Transportation and Logistics.

The World Skills Competition is held every two years. The host in 2021 will be China.
