Ambassador Pham Hai Anh, Chargé d'Affaires of the Vietnamese mission to the UN, reaffirmed Vietnam's stance in support of anti-proliferation and disarmament of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons. He said Vietnam supports Resolution 2231 and the JCPOA, and called on all parties to avoid actions that could undermine trust and escalate tensions, and focus on dialogue and negotiation to resolve differences.

Vietnam is ready, he said, to work with members of the UN Security Council to create an environment for dialogue and cooperation in and outside the council for the sake of peace, stability and development in the Middle East.
