(VOVworld)-Vietnam and Myanmar have pledged to increase multifaceted cooperation to promote 2-way trade and the construction of a road linking the 2 countries and Laos. During talks between President Truong Tan Sang and his Myanmar counterpart Thein Sein in Hanoi on Tuesday, both sides agreed to promote investment cooperation in agriculture, construction, transportation, telecommunications and national defense. President Sang said: “Vietnam treasures its relations with Myanmar. Our fruitful relationship was established a long time ago and has continued to be nurtured until now. The 2 countries have always stayed side by side over the past time”. The 2 Presidents also discussed cooperation in international forums.

The same day, President Thein Sein met with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
