The pilot scheme on remote medical examination and treatment in a number of hospitals has proved effective and the ministry is gathering insight for replication across other medical facilities, said Ms. Lan.

Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, Dao Ngoc Dung, underscored the significance of sending ethnic minority workers abroad, saying this is a major policy of the Government.

“Young ethnic minority people to be sent to work abroad, particularly those in remote and extremely difficult areas, are exempted from all fees including education, vocational training, and language learning." Minister Dung said.

He added Vietnam and Japan have signed a program under which ethnic minority youth to be sent to work in Japan enjoy fee exemption.
