The Society has just sent an official dispatch to the Government Office, relevant ministries, departments and agencies protesting against China's fishing ban in the East Sea in 2022. 

China's unilateral, repetitive and unreasonable action seriously infringes on Vietnam's sovereignty and violates Vietnam's other rights and interests in Vietnam's exclusive economic zone, the Society said, adding it violates international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and runs counter to the Declaration on the Conduct of parties in the East Sea.

The Vietnam Fisheries Society said China's fishing ban is null and void in waters under Vietnam's sovereignty and requested China to immediately end this unreasonable action.
