Afghanistan’s President Hamid Karzai has not yet agreed to a new Bilateral Security Agreement to maintain approximately 10,000 US troops in Afghanistan after 2014.

According to the US press, President Obama and the commanders discussed ways to end the war by December and the possibility of not leaving any troops in Afghanistan after 2014. White House officials admitted that withdrawing all troops or maintaining 10,000 troops in Afghanistan is a difficult choice for President Obama who is committed to ending this war but wants to avoid a repeat of what has happened in Iraq.
