Tokyo launches call center on Covid-19 in 14 languages

(VOVWORLD) - The Tokyo metropolitan government has set up a phone consultation center to provide information on the coronavirus and related issues in 14 languages, including Vietnamese. 

The metropolitan government began the service on Friday. Staff at the center can give consultations in Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Nepalese, Indonesian, Tagalog, Thai, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Cambodian, and Myanmar.

The center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. People can ask questions on subjects such as their health, businesses, children's education, and immigration status. The staff will connect callers to designated health care centers or other facilities to provide them with support. Approximately 50 staff are on standby, working from home. The number is 0120-296-004 and is toll-free within Japan.
