(VOVworld) – Vietnamese and Russian businesses have discussed the possibility of increasing Vietnamese exports to Russia to boost trade ties between the two countries.

A seminar, held in Moscow on Monday, introduced Vietnamese investment opportunities and economic cooperation potential in Russia, after Russia has joined the WTO and a free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan is signed. Tran Dang Chung, President of the Vietnamese Enterprises’ Association in Russia, presented current advantages and disadvantages of the Russian market pointing to the demand for food and other staples as major opportunities:
“Russia is a good potential market for Vietnamese enterprises. Even those who have failed there should consider now a good time to try again. I believe this is a good opportunity to promote Vietnamese products in Russia.”
A number of co-operation projects were signed, including a deal between Vietnamese enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City, the Bank for Investment and Development, and Russia’s Incentra Corporation.
