The northern coastal province of Quang Ninh topped Vietnam's Provincial Competitiveness Index for the seventh consecutive year with 71.25 points, according to the PCI 2023 report.

The report is an annual publication produced by VCCI with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and private partners, to promote better business practices and an eco-friendly business environment that attracts green investment.

Based the results of a survey of more than 10,000 businesses across the country, the report evaluates and ranks provinces’ economic management quality and environmental policy.

Dau Anh Tuan, Deputy General Secretary of VCCI, said: "For the Green Index, we rely on four different indicators. Frist is environmental protection. Second is local support policies towards green practices. Then businesses management is very important and minimum environmental standards must be met. In general, this green index focuses on promoting provincial economic development and environmental protection.”
