Visiting and wishing a Happy New Year to the Military University of Culture and Arts in Hanoi on Wednesday, PM Chinh said the People's Army’s culture plays an important role in political and ideological education, which were expressed through many songs that resonated with the struggle for national liberation and unification.

The Prime Minister emphasized that in 1943, Vietnam issued a Cultural Outline, which clearly defined the role and position of culture, considered culture as one of three fronts along with economics and politics, and identified cultural development in three directions: nation, science and mass.

Generations of national leaders have been determined to build a culture rich in national identity and unity in diversity and viewed culture and people as the soft power of the nation. As the country develops, the role and position of culture increases, he added.

Prime Minister Chinh continued the Government is mapping out a strategy to develop the cultural and entertainment industry, therefore, large investments are needed in human resources as well as physical and financial facilities for culture development.

He affirmed that over the past 70 years, the Military University of Culture and Arts has trained and fostered artistic cores for the entire army and generations of writers, artists, and musicians.

The Prime Minister said he hopes that the University will continue to perform well all tasks of teaching, researching, and converting culture into patriotism, while developing high-quality cultural human resources and spreading the Vietnamese cultural values to the world.
