The coast guards performed exercises on vessel communication, search and rescue, small boat operation, multi-vessel maneuvering, and emergency response operation on distressed situations such as fire onboard and man overboard.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Philippine Coast Guard said the drill is part of a commitment between the US and Philippine coast guards to enhance interaction in disaster response, security assurance, and anti-terrorism, promoting law enforcement capabilities in the Philippine maritime jurisdiction.
This was the second bilateral exercise between the coast guards of the two countries after the first exercise in May 2019.
