At the meeting in Hanoi, Om Birla affirmed that India considers Vietnam a pillar in its Act East policy and Indo-Pacific strategy. He proposed further bilateral cooperation in defense, security, trade, energy, tourism, and cultural and people-to-people exchange.
Party leader Trong applauded the fine development of the two countries' relations. He agreed with the Speaker’s cooperation proposals and suggested that the two sides continue to coordinate and share experiences to further deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership.
He called on the two sides to continue to exchange consultations and coordinate closely in international parliamentary forums, share views on regional and international issues, and contribute to consolidating the environment of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and in the wider world.
