North Korea says it will discuss denuclearization if threats are removed

(VOVWORLD) - North Korea may be willing to discuss denuclearization with the US if unspecified threats and hurdles to its security and development are addressed, said North Korea’s Foreign Ministry in a statement carried Monday by the Korean Central News Agency.

The statement said talks are expected to be held in a few weeks. Denuclearization might be discussed if threats and hurdles endangering Pyongyang’s security and obstructing its development are clearly removed beyond all doubt. Whether North Korea-US negotiations will be a window of opportunity or precipitate a crisis is entirely up to the US, it noted.
