More than 13,000 children killed in Gaza: UNICEF

(VOVWORLD) - UNICEF said on Sunday that more than 13,000 children have been killed in Gaza by Israel's offensive, and many more are suffering from severe malnutrition.

"Thousands more have been injured or we can't determine where they are. They may be trapped under rubble...We’ve seen that rate of death among children in almost no other conflict in the world,” UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell said on CBS News' "Face the Nation" program on Sunday.

A UN expert said earlier this month that Israel is destroying Gaza's food system as part of a broader "starvation campaign." Israel denied the accusation.
