Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi called the reports groundless and said Iran's policy concerning its defensive missile program are completely clear and transparent, and that other countries are well aware of that position. He said that Iran's defense program is not up for negotiation, insisting that Tehran's position has not undergone any changes. Qasemi said the Iranian missile work is completely defensive and deterrent. The Financial Times reported on Tuesday that Iran had agreed to negotiate its missile program and regional role at a recent meeting in Brussels with EU representatives.
