President of the UN General Assembly Mogens Lykketoft criticized the attacks and sent condolences to the victims’ families and governments. Lykketoft said acts of terrorism are unjustifiable regardless of their motivation, and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security. He said acts of terrorism have no place in the modern world.

Asian, Gulf, and African countries voiced their condemnation of the attacks, announced traveling warnings for Brussels, and tightened their security. The Indonesian Foreign Ministry issued a statement criticizing the terrorism and calling on the international community to increase its coordination in fighting terrorism and extremism. The Indonesian embassy in Brussels warned all Indonesian citizens to be on the alert. Filipino President Benigno S. Aquino III ordered security measures to be reviewed at all airports and public transportation stations. The Malaysian government said the international community needs to unite to fight terrorism. Australia raised its travel alert for Belgium. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent condolences to the victims’ families. Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Egypt issued statements condemning the deadly attacks, sent condolences to Belgium’s citizens, and affirmed their solidarity with the Belgian government.
Following terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium, Latin American countries have criticized the attacks and expressed support for a united Belgium.

Argentina’s Foreign Ministry released a statement to denounce all terror acts and commit to enhance cooperation in fighting terrorism for global peace and security with respect for international law and human rights.
Brazil’s Foreign Ministry has criticized all terrorist acts under any reasons and called on the international community to denounce terrorism. Chilean President Michelle Bachelet said the attacks are coward and peace will win over hatred. The Presidents of Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador have strongly criticized terrorist attacks on Brussels.
