This has been the team’s 4th consecutive SEA Games title and its 8th SEA Games title so far.
The Asian Football Confederation wrote on its webpage, “Vietnam defeat Myanmar for Women's gold” while the ASEAN Football Federation said “Four in a row for Vietnam women’s team at SEA Games.”
The International Olympic Committee commented that the 2023 SEA Games title “was especially significant for Vietnam, as they prepare themselves to make their first ever Women's World Cup appearance later this summer.”
France’s news agency AFP said, “Vietnam's women scored a big pre-World Cup boost on Monday by beating Myanmar 2-0 to win gold at the Southeast Asian Games.”
