During Monday's meeting in Berlin, the two leaders reached consensus on fighting human trafficking and supporting African countries.
Chancellor Merkel pledged to support Italy in tackling migration issues. She wants to reach an agreement with neighboring European countries that refugees’ asylum requests can be rejected in Germany and sent back to those countries.
