(VOVworld) - Hundred of fishing boats in several south central provinces have begun their offshore fishing season in Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.

Fishermen had prepared sufficient logistic supplies worth 4,500 USD for each boat for their month-long fishing trip. Head of Hon Ro Port in Nha Trang City, Nguyen Trung Hieu, talks about his port’s catering services for fishing boats: “We serve incoming fishing boats all day long by helping them unload as quickly as possible. We also have ice and oil reserves to supply to vessels any time they want for their new year’s fishing season.”

Fishermen in Tuy Hoa city are launching their fishing season to take benefit of good weather. Head of the local fishing association, Phan Thuan, said many boats have been equipped with sensor systems to trace fish shoals as well as weather monitoring systems to stay firm at sea.
