In a joint statement, the three countries’ Foreign Ministers said that there needs to be a credible investigation to establish the truth about what happened, and - if relevant - to identify those responsible for the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi and ensure that they are held to account.
Khashoggi disappeared after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2 and Turkish authorities have speculated that he was either killed or kidnapped there. Saudi Arabia has denied the accusations.
