President of the European Council Charles Michel said he and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen have repeated efforts to make the negotiation effective.

Mr. Michel is scheduled to chair a Summit of 27 EU member countries with trade talks with London being high on the agenda.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he was disappointed because no progress was made in the post-Brexit trade talks with the EU in the last two weeks. He said he is waiting for news from the EU Summit before deciding where to withdraw from negotiations.
