Early detection and epidemic fencing remain effective measure against Covid-19

(VOVWORLD) -The National Steering Committee set up to prevent and combat Covid-19 said on Wednesday that people arriving from South Korea must be quarantined, considering early detection and epidemic fencing to prevent community transmission as the most efficient measure.

Vietnam Airlines will suspend all flights to South Korea from Thursday as a precaution against the spread of the novel coronavirus. Budget carrier Vietjet continues to fly to South Korea until Saturday.  

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam asked the Ministries of Health and Science and Technology made timely review and appraisal of the test kit for Covid-19 for early mass production. The Ministry of Health has accredited two more testing labs for Covid-19 in Cho Ray Hospital and Thai Nguyen Hospital.  

According to the National Steering Committee report, 15,400 people who have had close contact or entered Vietnam from infectious areas are under health surveillance in localities, 400 of whom are quarantined in hospitals.
