Truong Thi Mai, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Organization, said the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory is an occasion for the entire Party, army and people to further continue and uphold the revolutionary tradition, patriotism, and solidarity.

Ms. Mai praised the war veterans' great contributions to national development.

Over the past nearly 40 years of national renewal, under the leadership of the Party, Vietnam has gained several major achievements of historic significance in economics, society, national defense, external relations, Party building, and other fields, she said.

"Associations of war veterans at all levels have taken the lead in patriotic emulation movements and the movement of following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples," Ms. Mai noted.
