Its purpose is to include the relic site in the list of UNESCO’s proposed World Heritage records. Ho Chi Minh City will co-ordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to report to the Prime Minister.

Located about 70 kilometers from downtown HCMC, the Cu Chi tunnels are a network of 250-kilometer-long underground defense tunnels.

In addition to its great historical and cultural significance, it is an engaging tourist destination for both domestic and international tourists. The Cu Chi Tunnels were certified as a special national relic in 2015.
