Le Hoang Tai, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Department, said that through the conference, Vietnam's seafood industry will learn more about the EU market and the need for business cooperation.

The Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), which officially took effect in August, 2020, are offering preferential tariffs with 220 tax lines on aquatic products with base tax rates from 0 to 22%, the remaining tax lines will be reduced to 0% according to the roadmap. After the COVID-19 vaccination campaigns and the economic stimulus package from the beginning of 2021, seafood demand in the EU market has recovered markedly.
